For the Young and Young at Heart
Summer is a magical time. The weather is warm, the sun is out, and school-age children the are relieved from homework and can enjoy the simple pleasures of being a kid again. Brookhaven does summer right. By providing ample activities and events to appeal to both the young (and young at heart), Brookhaven dwellers can have fun in the sun, all summer long! Here are a few activities and events we will be sure not to miss this summer.
Touch A Truck
When: Sat, June 29, 2019 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Blackburn Park
Police cars, fire trucks, and more will be on hand to provide a day of fun and learning for the whole family. Kids will be able to hop up in a fire truck, get behind the wheel of some heavy maintenance equipment, check out various police vehicles, and get some helpful safety tips from Brookhaven’s finest. No sirens for first 30 minutes of event for sensory sensitive children.
Chamblee 4th of July Celebration
When: Thursday, July 4th 5-10 PM
Where: Keswick Park
This event is full of fun for the entire family and includes one of the best fireworks shows around. There will be live music, food and activities for the family. Visit wwwchambleega.com for more information.
Summer Day Nature Camp
Cost: $45-$90 for half/full day
When: Monday-Friday from May 18 to August 9
Where: Blue Heron Nature Preserve

Blue Heron offers summer camp Monday-Friday from May 18 to August 9 (except for the 4th of July and Memorial Day.) Blue Heron camps offer children 30 acres of natural world to explore- right in the heart of the city!
